Our Story
In 2014, founder Logan Bingham had an idea
of creating a choir in the south-end of the Salt Lake
Valley. He was inspired by the many great choral
organizations found throughout Utah and knew that his
community (full of great singers!) was missing something. It wasn't until late 2016 that Logan proposed the idea of organizing a choir to Kensington Theatre Company President, Toni Butler. She generously accepted and plans were made to start in Spring 2017.

In December 2016, Logan formed a choir comprised of his friends to sing and perform a Christmas Concert. Kensington Theatre Company generously offered their theater as the venue and the choir took on the name of the Kensington Christmas Singers.

Shortly before the Christmas Concert, Logan reached out to his great friend and music mentor, Austin Thorpe, to be the principal conductor of the choir starting January 2017 and he accepted. Weeks later, auditions were held for the first season of the Kensington Singers! Austin conducted the choir for 5 months until he announced that he would be leaving Utah in August to pursue his doctorate degree from Florida State University. Logan Bingham currently conducts the choir. Now in their second season, the Kensington Singers are completing their goal and mission of creating honest music and meaningful experiences.
